Our day started with the sun streaming through the chink in our curtains, and after my morning workout (Peloton), I donned my barrister hat, boiled the kettle and made our morning drinks. Despite it being broken (sob), I really enjoyed playing this upright piano, and so I headed downstairs to play for a half hour. That done, the rest of our group met me in the lounge bar and escorted me to breakfast.
Memories of the banter and fun we’d had playing golf the previous day must have been on Tim’s mind because he proposed playing another round on a different course.

Due to it being Sunday, we decided to play in the morning in case it was busier and walk along the beach in the afternoon. Tim and Liz battled for the top spot, but after a hole-in-one, Liz had the game almost in the bag. All she needed was to keep her nerve and steady hand.
Lunch was similar to the previous day. Having grazed on the salad bar, cheese board or hot counters as our individual needs prescribed, we ambled down to the beach for a paddle leaving Tim to take an afternoon siesta.
The beach was packed and the sun-bathed sand had reached around gas mark 6. We were glad to be walking along the water’s edge with the refreshing tide lapping over our feet and lower legs.

Reaching the end of the beach, we walked around the headland and not the next beach. Once we had strolled along that beach, we rinsed our feet and began to walk along the pavement to give our feet time to dry. This plan was short-lived due to the red hot path which sizzled the bottom of our feet. Stopping at a bench, we put on our shoes and headed back to the hotel pool bar for a glass of something cold. After a couple of glasses, we assumed that Tim’s siesta had turned into a full-on afternoon sleep.
Following the cadences of the now familiar pool bar timetable, all too soon it was 6pm and time to decamp to the lounge bar.
And again, despite the piano missing a few notes your scribe was keen to tickle the ivories before our evening meal. After we’d eaten, we headed outside to discover where the bus stop was for tomorrow’s activities.
Good night!
