For those who’re fans of the Pixar film ‘The Incredibles’, I know you’ll be repeating the title of today’s blog using the voice of Edna Mode. (She’s a wonderful character, especially in the second film – but enough already.)
After attacking the best breakfast buffet again this morning we checked out and ambled down to the station to wait for our replacement bus (engineering works still ongoing). Rather than getting up at 7am to be ready for the 8:29am bus we decided to catch the 10:29am bus. This also allowed us to visit the ticket office and obtain tickets back to Milan using the “open ticket” which remains unused from Thursday’s fiasco.

Arriving at the station a little before the ticket office opened, which has been a common theme of our stay in Italy – specifically our ability to sort ourselves out and be somewhere ahead of/on time without waiting for absent members of our household to make their way to the agreed meeting point (mentioning no names…).
Waiting for the ticket office to open we perched in the main hotel reception, (the block our suite was located in up the road being linked to the main hotel situated in the square by the station, which is also where we breakfasted each day) we used the free WiFi to plan our day in Milan.

Once back at Colico, we boarded the train to Milan and were grateful for the increased space/leg room for us and our bags.
Having checked into our hotel in Milan and re-united ourselves with the suitcases we left here on Thursday, we ditched everything in our room and headed out into the city.
Milan was very warm, especially after the cool breeze we’d enjoyed in St Moritz and at Alp Grum yesterday. We braved the heat and made our way to the cathedral, which is not only massive but one of the most ornate buildings I’ve ever seen – aside from Gaudi’s cathedral in Barcelona which is (IMHO) breathtaking. From the cathedral we decided to tick a few things off our list and headed to the Intel Milan FC shop and look for a top Matty was interested in. Two stores down the same parade of shops was an NBA store, but they’d sold out of the shirt Luke was interested in. Across the road was a Lego store, so we popped in for a look and spotted an amazing model cathedral in their window.

Feeling pretty hot and bothered we walked back to the hotel for a siesta, and also to use the free wifi while we waited for restaurants to open. Italians like to eat late and it’s not uncommon for many restaurants not to open until 6:30pm/7pm. And for them to be packed at 10pm.
After our food, (American-style burger and rib – you really can have too much pizza and pasta) we decided to walk around in the cool evening and see some of the sights. After all, if you don’t intend to go inside it doesn’t matter if they’re open or closed!
